National & International Consultancy

1. Background

Causal Design is an economic consulting firm conducting rigorous program evaluations and analysis for international development organizations. Our evaluations are designed to provide timely and practical information to decision-makers working to end poverty and inequality. 

With a full-time office in Phnom Penh since 2017, Causal Design works with our international development partners in Cambodia and throughout the region to evaluate project impact, provide M&E capacity development, and conduct applied economic research to generate knowledge and improve project targeting. 

As we are rapidly growing, we are seeking sectoral experts and thought leaders to join our roster of consultants in Cambodia. Expressions of interest will be accepted on a rolling basis. All sector experts are highly encouraged to apply, with a specific focus on the fields of: 

• Health:  Public Health, Nutrition, Epidemiology 
• Agriculture: Agronomist, Agriculture economics, Food security, Fisheries, Value chain
• Environment: Climate Resilience, Emissions Measurement, Carbon Market, Energy
• Education, Social Protection, Gender/GEDSI, Labor/Immigration

2. Qualifications

• Resident of Cambodia or another ASEAN country. Cambodian nationals are strongly encouraged to apply.
• Masters degree in one of the fields highlighted above
• At least 5 years of experience working in one of the fields highlighted above (experience working with evaluation teams preferred)
• Experience managing teams (particularly in a cross-cultural environment) is desirable
• Experience working with USAID-funded projects or international development agencies is desirable
• Quantitative or qualitative research experience is desirable
• Excellent oral and written communication skills in English. Khmer or fluency in another ASEAN language is an advantage.
